life @ 12.46am

1. Spore to date:
- Mostly incredible. :) The game's greatly entertaining and as far as I can see, does have some replay value. Definitely worth playing but not sure if it's worth the 99AUD: I'm already at Space stage and it's only been a couple of days. I finished Tribal under an hour, for example -_-;
- Replay value: if you're carnivore all the way in Cell stage, you will be carnivore all the way in Creature stage, after which, chances are, you will be pretty much Aggressive in Tribal stage. :( Not sure if you change. In any case, being aggressive was fun: committing genocide and wiping other species off the map, keke.
- I found Civilisation mode difficult, probably because I suck at RTS. However, it was still fun, though I did try my best to come out Religious instead of Military (for the perk in Space), but still came out Military despite using Religion to convert most cities -_- Maybe it was the way I did it: small fleet of religion planes (I called them my Jesumobiles :( ) and big fleet of escort military planes. XD;;; Yes, you do basically go crazy with designing in Civ mode: designing buildings and vehicles.
- Space mode is the mode I find irritating atm - the pirates seem to attack me too frequently. T_T Hope it gets changed: all your homeworlds etc have to be babysat because their inhabitants, it seem, are really still in Tribal mode and can't really defend themselves -_-; Also, your civilisation only seems to have the tech to build ONE goddamn spaceship ever, which is annoying when you're facing off with 4++ enemies.

2. Politics
- [Best summary of the day, in cartoon form].
- [Cindy McCain's outfit] would be the mortgage for a fairly decent house: Republican Convention: $313,000. :O. If only I could make that much money in a year.
- [Best coverage, naturally, Dave Barry]:

"But McCain's staff insists that it conducted a thorough investigation of Palin, which included not only inspecting her driver's license, but also, according to a campaign spokesperson, "reading almost her entire Wikipedia article.""

3. [Watermelon carvings!] courtesy of R hat tip.

4. Games:
- [info]thesteiner has probably already seen this, but [Warhammer: Space Marine]: "Brawler" game.
- [Article unrelated] but omg, that is one amazing Gabranth suit.
- [Yet Another Resident Evil Movie]: yawwwn.
- [A Raving Rabbids trailer] celebrating end of Big Brother. SOO cute. LOL. ( try not to think abt where the cookie came from )

5. Manga
- One Piece: LOL. Seriously, I loled, and it was not an intention. With the jaded cynicism of shounen jump followers (cue Gintama joke), [info]nickfong and I discussed the probability that they'd all been jetted off to Kuma's Secret Dungeon to be leveled up, Urahara style, turned into Vizards etc. NEXT UP: Zoro with x3 Bankai. 3 swords style, baby.
- Naruto Sasuke: Eye of I.W.I.N. strikes again. This is totally a dumb story gimmick.
- Bleach: I know it's a staple, but I dislike it when people are inexplicably bad, and then become inexplicably much better. Its like holding off your best combos until you are nearly dead.
- xxxHolic: It's just about canon already isn't it! :S
- Gintama: It's Kondou's birthday, but unfortunately, no releases. :( [info]gintama_route18 did have, as usual, a celebrating-birthday set of really cute doujin scanlations, including a Kondou x Otae. :D
- Hitman reborn: Continues to have so far one of the most bizarre level up gimmicks I've seen so far: Contact lenses. With game targeting, at that. :O

Information About Sarah Palin

All this information was forwarded to me in an e-mail by my aunt. I know how unreliable stuff like that is, so I'm posting this to see if anybody knows any of this is patently untrue. Even if I don't want to vote for someone, I don't want to blame them for stuff they didn't actually do.
However, some of this is stuff I've heard from reputable sources several times already, and it has more than a passing similarity to the truth.
The e-mail body. )

Tagged Meme

figured I'd fill out the meme since Chico tagged me... never been tagged before... just like elementary school...

1. Ellen keeps calling me a picky eater, and making fun of me, but there are just some foods that I hate, like Jell-O, Pudding, Cotton Candy, Popcorn... all because of texture.

2. I love dance/techno/trance/electronic music, I hate dancing, but love the music.

3. I hate large groups of people, DragonCon can count as an exception, except for this year when on Saturday night I opted to stay in the room instead of go out, just can't deal with large crowds that much.

4. I think I might be Diabetic. I know, I need to see a doctor.

5. I have "Piano Hands" (not to be confused with jass hands) from the tip of my thumb to my pinky on each hand is exactly an octave.

6. I pretty much hate all country/pop music, anything that people listen to just because it's on the radio is pretty much crap to me, until like 5 years later when I'm like "hey that's a pretty good song"

7. I've always wanted to go to other countries, especially northern Europe, but I don't have the job/money/time to go anywhere.

8. I hate horror movies, suspense is ok, but not horror.

9. I love to laugh, hence liking comedy/action movies.

10. I tend to pick on people a lot, I know it's wrong, I don't mean it maliciously, I guess it's just a defense mechanism I picked up in High School, trying to shut it off, but it's not quite there yet.

Dust in the Wind

I just finished a new AMV a few days ago and finally uploaded it to youtube.

Footage: Final Fantasy X

Music: "Dust in the Wind" by Kansas

I just finally got my hands on this song after wanting to make a FFX video with it for ages. My family really liked it and I'm fairly happy with it, though there are a few things I might change if I ever have a decent amount of free time again. :D I hope that you enjoy if you watch it.

I'm loving Google's new browser. It's faster than Firefox and is a heck of a lot nicer than Internet Destroyer. :D Though, the new IE8 is pretty cool too, though I don't like how much space the menus take up.

Something nice today:

I wore heels for the first time since early June, now that I no longer have to wear the knee brace and I can now wear heels one day a week and build up to more days eventually.

I paired them with a red mock turtleneck and a red houndstooth skirt.

As I walked into the kitchen, an attorney, who I shall keep nameless, looked at me in surprise and pleasure and said, "Wow. You look so bea.... so bright and cheery today.  Can you share whatever it is that makes you so cheery with me?" (He started to say beautiful! Hooray for me!)

I laughed and shrugged.  I almost said, "Sex in the morning," but decided that probably wasn't appropriate. He immediately responded, "Oh no, you've been doing crack, haven't you?"

This was just something nice and fun that I thought I'd share.
